Our Process
For most jobs, SteamWorks uses a truck mounted hot water extraction machine, known as steam cleaning. For jobs that require cleaning in high rise buildings, SteamWorks uses portable machines and rotating brush equipment to get commercial carpet as clean as possible. Hot water extraction is the single most effective method to rid your carpet of dirt, bacteria and allergens.
As a company, we take pride in our work and enjoy working with our clients to accommodate their schedule and needs. Success for our company is when a customer calls us year after year to their home or business. When you call SteamWorks with any questions you will always be talking to one of the owners of the company.
Frequently Asked Questions
After cleaning, most carpets can be walked on. We supply you with plastic shoe covers and the carpet is never saturated at any point during the cleaning. We do recommend that you avoid walking on carpet that has been treated with carpet protector for about two hours to allow the protector to be as effective as possible.
Most synthetic carpet will be dry in 4-6 hours. Carpets cleaned and then applied with carpet protector are dry in about 6-8 hours. Air flow and movement is important to drying time. While the carpet is never saturated at any point during the cleaning process, your air conditioning or heat will substantially reduce drying time. Ceiling and box fans will also help dry the carpet quickly.
Because wool fibers are more absorbent than synthetic fibers, wool rugs and carpet may be damp for about 6-8 hours.
SteamWorks can clean carpet throughout the year. It is not necessary to worry about cleaning during rainy days or cold days. We are happy to reschedule your appointment if you want due to the weather but carpet will still dry in the 4-6 hours if your home is air conditioned or heated. The important thing is air movement. We can answer any questions you have with a phone call to our office.
